Heat treatment is emerging as one of the most effective methods for eradicating bedbugs and their eggs, offering a sophisticated solution that avoids the use of potentially harmful chemicals. By raising temperatures to a lethal level—typically around 120°F (49°C) or more—this method penetrates deep into furniture, cracks, and crevices where these resilient pests often hide. The beauty of heat treatment lies in its capacity to destroy not only adult bedbugs but also their elusive eggs, which can be left untouched by conventional insecticides.

IS IT SAFE?
When considering bedbug heat treatment, many people often grapple with concerns about its safety—not just for themselves, but also for their pets and the environment. This method is renowned for its effectiveness in eradicating bedbugs at all life stages without the use of harsh chemicals. Heat treatment involves raising the temperature in a room to levels lethal to these pests, typically between 118°F (48°C) and 135°F (57°C). This approach not only eliminates bedbugs but also reduces the risk of chemical exposure that can linger long after traditional pesticide treatments.
About Heat Treatment
Over the years some (not all) but some bedbugs have become resistant to chemical treatments. This means that no matter how much poison you put down, many will die, however some bed bugs can still survive and start the breeding cycle all over again. Another problem with chemical treatment is that it can take numerous rounds in order to kill the bugs. Whereas heat treatment kills the bed bugs immediately. Infestations are hard to kill with chemicals as its very hard to treat everywhere.
However heat is absorbed into every space and gap in a room killing almost everything. There are very few places where the bed bugs can hide with heat treatment. Another good point about heat treatment is that it kills bed bugs at any stage of their life cycle.
As a professional pest control company, we only specialize in the eradication of beg bugs. We don’t diversify into other areas meaning we are experts at what we do.
How do we prepare the rooms before the heat treatment?
-When we come we will check to make sure that most items are positioned in the centre of the room. This allows for air circulation to blow around the bulk of the items in the room freely.
-Then we will place the heaters in the room. Depending on the size of the room we will install 1 or 2 heaters. Smaller rooms are faster to heat up so can require just one.
-We will then position the fans in the room to blow the hot air around the room and reach every crevice.
-Then heater temperature sensors will be installed in cold areas of the room to ensure that even the coldest parts of the room are heated above the required temperature.
-We can place some diatomaceous earth around the edges of the room (this is optional). This is optional. This is not a poison as such, essentially it is a food ingredient which slowly dries the bedbugs shell out over time.
-We then run the heaters for the required amount of time in order to kill the bedbugs.
